Gwendolyn M. Kelly

Gwendolyn M. [Witte] Kelly, 90, of Point Pleasant, died on Saturday, Aug. 28 at Ocean Medical Center, in Brick.

She was born and raised in the Vailsburg section of Newark and lived in West Orange, before moving to Point Pleasant 19 years ago.

Mrs. Kelly was a homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 49 years, Edmond J. Kelly, in 1991, by her son, Dennis, in 1942, and by her twin brothers, William and Richard Witte.

She is survived by her daughters, Denise A. DeFalco and her husband, Anthony, Pamela Mudrick and her husband, Mark, and Wendy Sheridan and her husband, Gary, all of Brick; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

At the request of the family, all services and interment are private. Colonial Funeral Home, Brick, is in charge of arrangements.

Marie P. Soracco

Marie P. [Ryan] Soracco, 84, formerly of Point Pleasant, passed away peacefully Monday, Aug. 9.

Friends may visit with the family and celebrate Marie’s life from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 4, at the Pable-Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road.

John C. Plisky

John C. Plisky, 71, of Lakewood, formerly of Manasquan, died Friday, Aug. 27 at his home.

Born in Elizabeth, he lived in Linden, Manasquan for 30 years, and Point Pleasant for 12 years, before moving to Lakewood two months ago.

Mr. Plisky owned and operated John C. Plisky and Associates in Brielle for the past 30 years.

Mr. Plisky is survived by his wife, Diane [Meyer], and is also survived by two sons, John M., of Howell, and James R., of Wall; one daughter, Jennifer Vido, of Bel Air, Md.; two sisters, Marilyn Blacker, of Scotch Plains, and Joan Kissel, of Long Island; seven grandchildren, Henry and Samuel Vido, and Matthew, Mark, Morgan, James Jr. and Thomas Plisky.

A Memorial Mass was held on Tuesday, Aug. 31, at St. Martha Church, in Point Pleasant. The Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, Manasquan, was in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cape May Bird Observatory, 600 N. Delsea Dr., Cape May Court House, 08210 would be appreciated.

William A. Kunz

William A. Kunz, 81, of Point Pleasant, passed away Friday, Aug. 27.

Born in West Orange, to the late William and Lena [Mehl] Kunz, he was raised there and has lived in Point Pleasant for 56 years.

Mr. Kunz was a retired teacher from Point Pleasant Beach High School, where he taught for 40 years.

He was a United States Army veteran and graduate of Rutgers University, where he received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

He was active with Ocean’s Harbor House, Toms River, and the Interfaith Hospitality Network of Ocean County, as well as a member of the Point Pleasant Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 56 years, Frances Heerich Kunz; three sons, Bruce Kunz of Howell, Larry Kunz and his wife Hillary of Raleigh, N.C., and Craig Kunz and his wife Yvonne of Hopewell; his sister, Lillian Anderson; and two grandchildren, Heather and Ryan.

The Pable-Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant was in charge of arrangements.
