Chiropractors To Act As Local Food Drop-off Sites

Members of the Association of New Jersey Chiropractors have joined together and designated their offices as drop-off locations for a food drive to benefit those in need this holiday season. The food drive takes place from until Nov. 22. Stiso Chiropractic, 2401 Route 35, is the official Wall Township. All non-perishable items will be accepted.

Pride Of Wall Seniors Holding Events

A bus trip to Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City is scheduled on Wednesday, Dec. 3. “The Sounds of the Season” musical show is being featured for the seniors.
Their Annual Holiday Luncheon will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 16 at the Barclay in Belmar. Members may purchase tickets at the Dec. 2 meeting. No tickets will be sold at the door.
Seniors are donating food at each meeting during the holiday season. The food will be delivered to churches in the area for distribution to needy families.
The Pride Of Wall Seniors meet on the first and third Tuesday of the month in the community room of the municipal building, 2700 Allaire Road. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. for coffee and cake. The business meeting begins at 12:30 p.m.

Woman’s Club Collects Hats For Cancer Patients

The Sea Girt Woman’s Club is sponsoring a drive to collect new hats for the Heavenly Hats Foundation, a volunteer organization that distributes hats to patients who lose hair due to cancer treatment and medical conditions.
New soft hats, especially those of light fabrics, including turbans and baseball caps, are needed for men, women and children. There is a special need for hats for boys who are 2 to 10 years old.
Hats and contributions can be dropped off at Barlow’s Flower Farm and the Sea Girt Library. The drive ends on Nov. 30. For information call 732-449-2789.

Floros fund-raiser to be held Nov. 22

The Jaguars are hosting Remember Jim Floros Day at Bar Anticipation in Lake Como, on Saturday, Nov. 22 from 2-7 p.m. There is a suggested donation of $15 per person.

There will be continuous entertainment, hot food buffet, prizes and the event will culminate with the super 50/50 drawing. Funds raised from the event will go to help the family pay for expenses.

Wall Library To Hold Book Sale

26th Annual Manasquan Turkey Trot

On Saturday, Nov. 22, nearly 2,000 runners will hit the borough’s streets for the 26th Annual Manasquan Turkey Trot five-mile and one-mile runs.
The annual event serves as a major fund-raiser for the community, with all proceeds donated to local charities and non-profit organizations.
Registration for the event is now open and entries for the five-mile race are limited to the first 2,000 runners. The pre-registration to guarantee a long-sleeve race shirt is Nov. 8.
The cost of entry will be $25 before Nov. 8 and $27 after that. No registrations for the five-mile will be taken on race day. Registration for the one-mile run will be taken on race day.
The rain or shine event will begin at 8:30 a.m. with shirt pick-up and sign-in.
The one-mile run will commence at 10 a.m. and the five-mile run will go off at 11 a.m.
The race will start at the intersection of First Avenue and Main Street and harriers will wind through the streets of the borough, crossing the finish line at Second and Ocean avenues, near the borough’s Little League fields.
Awards will be given to the overall top male and female finishers, top five male and female finishers, winners in age categories, first finishers from Manasquan and all runners under 12-years-old in either race will receive medals.
In addition, a number of randomly drawn prizes will be awarded on race day.

Coast Guard To Hold Boating Safety Class On Nov. 22

U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 16-08 at the Shark River Coast Guard Station will be offering the newly revised course titled, “About Boating Safely” this fall.
The USCGA-authorized one-day course will be offered on Saturday, Nov. 22.
The class will be held at Coast Guard Station Shark River on Washington Avenue between First and Second Avenues in Avon.
Class will begin at 8:45 a.m.
This course satisfies the requirements for the state-mandated Boating Safety Certificate.
Due to limited seating, advance registration is required.

The Brielle Cub Scout Pack No. 63, along with the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, are hosting a food drive on Saturday, Nov. 22.
Scouts will be distributing bags to Brielle residents the week prior to the food pick-up.
Food will then be picked-up from the residents on Nov. 22. Residents are asked to have the food bags out visibly by 9 a.m. for pick-up.
Non-perishable items, such as packaged dried goods or canned goods, will be accepted. Please do not pack glass containers or frozen foods.
